Senegal opposition leader Sonko arrested after clashes, lawyer says

Jacaranda (South Africa) reported that former Senegalese presidential candidate and opposition figure Ousmane Sonko was arrested on charges of disturbing public order and participating in unauthorised demonstrations.

US takes helm at UN Security Council with focus on Africa    

Africa Times (pan-African) reported on comments by US Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield that African affairs will be a priority as the US takes up the presidency role for the United Nations Security Council this month.

Egypt Today (Egypt) reported that Sudan and Egypt’s Foreign Ministers met on Tuesday to discuss opportunities for bilateral cooperation, including reaching an agreement over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
