Somalia leaders in emergency talks over election crisis 

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed has summoned federal state leaders for emergency talks, in a bid to break an election deadlock and avoid a constitutional crisis, reported Africanews (pan-African). 

DR Congo Prime Minister resigns 

Congolese Prime Minister Sylvestre Ilunga Ilunkamba has resigned, following a no-confidence vote in parliament. This came after Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi’s decision to end a power-sharing agreement with the supporters of former President Joseph Kabila, reported Peace FM (Ghana).

Senatorial elections: The Soviet score of the CEO  

Gabon Review (Gabon) reported that Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba’s party, the Parti Démocratique Gabonais, has won an overwhelming majority in the first round of Saturday’s senatorial elections.
