New Somalia election talks collapse

Africanews (pan-African) reported that the most recent round of talks to resolve Somalia’s election deadlock has failed. Critics accused acting President, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmaajo of delaying the election to extend his mandate.

Toll in Sudan clashes rises to 132 dead

CGTN Africa (pan-African) reported that 87 people were killed and 191 wounded following five days of tribal clashes in the State capital of West Darfur, El Geneina. 

MDC Alliance activist Haruzivishe jailed 14 months 

263 Chat (Zimbabwe) reported that Zimbabwean Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Alliance member, Makomborero Haruzivishe was sentenced to 14 months in jail for inciting violence and resisting arrest. The MDC Alliance stated that Haruzivishe was being targeted for being a member of the opposition.
