Togo First (Togo) reported that Togolese President, Faure Gnassingbé won a fourth term in office, gaining over 72% of the votes.

Muthatika masterstoke to win 50+1 in Malawi fresh election

Nyasa Times (Malawi) reported that Malawi’s ruling Democratic Progressive Party has formed an alliance with the United Democratic Front on Tuesday. This was announced one day after the re-run of the presidential election was set for May 19, following the constitutional court’s annulment of the previous vote in February.

African Union Executive Council endorses African Development Bank President Adesina for second term

CNBC Africa (South Africa) reported that the Executive Council of the African Union has supported African Development Bank President, Akinwumi Adesina’s candidacy for a second term.
