Ibrahim Scholarships

The Ibrahim Scholarships support aspiring African leaders at a number of distinguished academic institutions. The scholarships develop the talent of outstanding young Africans in selected disciplines.

Please note: the scholarships listed below are the only ones we currently offer and are for African nationals only.

London Business School

The MIF scholarship for Africa supports outstanding students on a full-time MBA programme. Each year one scholarship, providing full payment of fees, is awarded to an exceptional African candidate with financial need.

SOAS

School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS)

A scholarship is offered on the Governance for Development in Africa Initiative, a programme which studies the socio-economic, political and legal links between governance and development. One PhD opportunity per year is offered.

University of Birmingham

University of Birmingham

One MSc in Governance and State-Building per year is offered. This two-year programme includes a six-month internship at the Foundation Secretariat. Full tuition fees, a living allowance and airfare to the UK are covered.

Chatham House

The Mo Ibrahim Foundation Academy Fellowship supports one Academy fellow each year from any African country who spends ten months at Chatham House. The Fellowship is a joint initiative between Chatham House and the Mo Ibrahim Foundation.
