The Mo Ibrahim Foundation is pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of new analysis looking at COVID-19’s impact on Africa and the continent’s potential to respond. ‘COVID-19 in Africa: a challenging road to recovery’ will be launched on Monday 6 December 2021.
Using country data from the Ibrahim Index of African Governance (IIAG), the report provides a clear picture of where each African country stands in relation to ten critical challenges exposed by COVID-19, and the potential of each country to navigate these on the road to recovery.
The report builds on the 2021 Ibrahim Forum Report and discussions at the 2021 Ibrahim Governance Weekend, held in June, which explored the impact of the pandemic in Africa in the areas of health, politics and society, and the economy.
With rich data visualisations, analysis from the Foundation’s Research Team, and contributions from external experts and practitioners, ‘COVID-19 in Africa: a challenging road to recovery’ aims to provide African policymakers and their partners with new insights on where to focus efforts and resources going forward.
