MIF welcomes 11 October announcement by IMF Executive Board

The Mo Ibrahim Foundation welcomes the announcement by the International Monetary Fund’s Executive Board that it has full confidence in the leadership of Kristalina Georgieva, the IMF’s Managing Director.

Global challenges are multiplying. High-quality leadership of our global multilateral institutions matters more than ever.

Under Georgieva, the IMF has played a vital role in helping less wealthy nations, notably those in Africa, manage the economic fall-out from COVID-19 and chart a path to recovery.

The Foundation looks forward to continuing its work with the IMF, and with all partners helping Africa to respond to the serious challenges facing the continent today.
