Angélique Kidjo wins best world music album at the 2016 Grammy's for SINGS

“I want to dedicate this Grammy to all the traditional musicians in Africa, in my country, to all the young generation.”

The Mo Ibrahim Foundation congratulates Angélique Kidjo for winning best world music album for SINGS, a collaboration with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg with Gast Waltzing.

“Africa is on the rise. Africa is positive. Africa is joyful.”

Angélique has been part of the Foundation family since the beginning.

Other nominees in the category included the Zomba Prison Project (Malawi) and Ladysmith Black Mambazo (South Africa).
