Mo Ibrahim and MIF Executive Committee to participate in the 70th UN General Assembly

The 70th Regular Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 70) opened at the UN Headquarters in New York on Tuesday, 15 September 2015.

From 25-27 September the Summit for the Adoption of the Post-2015 Development Agenda will convene, where world leaders will commit to 17 Global Goals in order to:

  1. end extreme poverty
  2. fight inequality & injustice, and
  3. fix climate change.

Mo and the MIF Executive Team will participate in various platforms and discussions at the Summit.

As part of The B Team activities, aimed at discussing how business can help meet the Global Goals for sustainable development, Mo Ibrahim will be speaking on a panel discussion titled The Role of Business in Advancing the Global Goals. Meanwhile, Hadeel Ibrahim, will moderate a roundtable discussion at one of the UN side events, Philanthropy Engaged: Implementing and Achieving the Post-2015 Agenda, taking place on 24 September. Activity around the Philanthropy discussions can be followed on Twitter via the hashtags #GlobalGoals and #GlobalGoalsLeaders.
