The 70th Regular Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 70) opened at the UN Headquarters in New York on Tuesday, 15 September 2015.
From 25-27 September the Summit for the Adoption of the Post-2015 Development Agenda will convene, where world leaders will commit to 17 Global Goals in order to:
- end extreme poverty
- fight inequality & injustice, and
- fix climate change.
Mo and the MIF Executive Team will participate in various platforms and discussions at the Summit.
As part of The B Team activities, aimed at discussing how business can help meet the Global Goals for sustainable development, Mo Ibrahim will be speaking on a panel discussion titled The Role of Business in Advancing the Global Goals. Meanwhile, Hadeel Ibrahim, will moderate a roundtable discussion at one of the UN side events, Philanthropy Engaged: Implementing and Achieving the Post-2015 Agenda, taking place on 24 September.
