Mo Ibrahim awarded Senegal's Highest Honour, the National Order of the Lion

President Macky Sall of Senegal awarded Mo Ibrahim with the National Order of the Lion, raising him to the rank of Commander at a special ceremony on Sunday 16th February in Dakar. In bestowing the civil and military honour for exceptional merit and service to the nation, President Sall highlighted Dr Ibrahim’s tireless commitment and dedication to the issue of governance and leadership both on the continent as well as globally. The award was officially instituted on 22 October 1960 and remains Senegal’s highest honour.
