Maureen Were

Maureen Were is a Manager, Macroeconomic Modelling and Forecasting Division of the Research Department, Central Bank of Kenya. She is an economist by profession with a wide experience in research, policy analysis and macroeconomic modelling.
Maureen moved to the Bank after eight-year career as a policy analyst at the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis. She has published and co-authored a number of research papers and articles on various topics including monetary policy in Kenya, trade, exchange rates, macroeconomic issues, modelling and gender. Her research and work interests include macroeconomics, economic modelling and policy analysis, socioeconomic policies, trade, development of Africa, gender perspectives, capacity building and mentorship activities. Maureen has a PhD in Economics.
