Oliver Chinganya

Director, African Centre for Statistics UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA)

Oliver Chinganya is Director of the African Centre for Statistics at the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). He is a Fellow, Chartered Statistician and Chartered Scientist of the Royal Statistical Society-UK, and vice-president of the International Statistical Institute. Oliver initiated the Data Science Campus at the African Centre for Statistics of UNECA for sustainable statistical capacity building in Africa and also coordinated the ECA Digital Centre for Excellence from its inception. Previously, he was Manager for the Statistical Capacity Building Division at the African Development Bank, Regional Advisor at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and acting Director of the Zambia Statistical Office.
