Macky Sall

H.E. Macky Sall served as the 4th President of Senegal from 2012-2024. A geological engineer and geophysicist, Sall's political career spans multiple positions, including Special Adviser on Energy and Mines and Minister of Mines, Energy, and Water. He also served as Prime Minister from 2004-2007 and Speaker of Parliament in 2008.

On the international stage, Sall served as Chairperson of ECOWAS from 2015-2016, and Chairperson of the African Union from February 2022-February 2023. Additionally, he was Special Envoy for the Paris Pact for the People and the Planet in 2024 and currently chairs the Global Center on Adaptation to Climate Change in Rotterdam.
