Dr Ali Hadi
Ali S. Hadi, Ph.D. is a Distinguished University Professor and former Chair, Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science at The American University in Cairo (AUC). He was the Vice Provost and Director of Graduate Studies and Research at AUC. He founded the Actuarial Science Program at AUC in 2004 and the Data Science Program at AUC in 2019, each of which is a four-year programme leading to a bachelor of science degree. Dr Hadi is currently a Stephen H. Weiss Presidential Fellow and Professor Emeritus at Cornell University, USA.
Dr Hadi served on the IIAG Advisory Council from 2009–2023, and has been a member of the IIAG Expert Panel since 2024. He has been serving on the Egyptian National Committee for Mathematics, the Academy of Scientific Research & Technology since 2019. He previously served as Assistant, Associate, and full Professor, as well as a Department Chair at Cornell University, USA, from 1984–2000. He was also elected Editor-in-Chief of the International Statistical Review, the flagship journal of the International Statistical Institute and its seven Associations. He was elected a Fellow of the American Statistical Association in 1997, is a member of the International Statistical Institute (since 1998), and a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (since 2019).
