Abdoulie Janneh
Dr Abdoulie Janneh is the former Executive Director, Liaison with Governments and Institutions in Africa, at the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, based in Dakar, Senegal. Prior to this assignment, he served as UN Under-Secretary General and Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (2005-2012). He also served as UN Assistant Secretary-General and the UNDP Regional Director for Africa (2000-2005).
Dr Janneh sits on the boards of several organisations, including the Africa Forum of Former Heads of State, Afrobarometer, International Lawyers of Africa (ILFA), AO Alliance Foundation and Trust Africa. He has since 2022 been a Member of the Panel of Imminent Persons of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) where he served as Chairperson (2022-2024).
He is currently Chairman of the Board of the Africa Governance Institute (AGI). He is a steadfast advocate for intra-African collaboration.
