Zim Currency Reforms Revisited
The Zimbabwean reported on new currency reforms implemented in Zimbabwe, with the return of the Zimbabwean dollar. The piece argued that the currency reforms alone would not be effective in stabilising the economy, calling instead for greater reform of the nation’s economic institutions, and referring to the nation’s low ranking in the IIAG.
Mauritania ruling party candidate declares victory in presidential vote
Mauritanian ruling party candidate, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, has been declared winner of Presidential elections with 52% of votes. Four of the opposition candidates have rejected the results citing a lack of transparency.

Ethiopian Army Chief of Staff, Seare Mekonnen and three other senior officials were killed during an attempted regional coup in the northern State of Amhara.
