Join the 2020 cohort of Ibrahim Leadership Fellows

Applications are now welcomed for the 2020 Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships programme, which is designed to identify and prepare the next generation of outstanding African leaders by providing them with mentoring opportunities in key multilateral institutions.

The selected candidates will benefit from the direct mentorship of the current heads of the African Development Bank, the International Trade Centre and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.

Each Fellow will be hosted by the executive office of the chosen organisation for a 12-month fellowship supporting senior management, and are open to African mid-career professionals with relevant work experience and a Master’s degree.

Eligibility criteria

  • National of an African country
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Master’s degree
  • under the age of 40, or 45 for women with children
  • any additional criteria as set by the host.

 

The Ibrahim Fellowships programme is an excellent opportunity to build the leadership and managerial skills of young men and women in Africa by placing them in the heart of the trade and development world. ITC has benefitted from hosting a number of Fellows who have provided great support to the work of the Executive Office. They have returned to their countries with greater skills, knowledge and confidence and ITC is pleased to be involved in building this next generation of African leaders.
