Donald Kaberuka selected Chair of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Board
MIF Board member Donald Kaberuka has been selected Chair of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Board earlier this month. Kaberuka will serve a two-year term beginning on Thursday, 16 May.
In a statement released by the Global Fund, Kaberuka said:
Donald Kaberuka was the seventh President of the African Development Bank and Chair of the Board of Directors, first elected in 2005 for a five-year term and reappointed in 2010. Prior to that, Kaberuka was Finance Minister of Rwanda from 1997-2005.
The Global Fund is a partnership organisation designed to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria as epidemics. Founded in 2002, the partnership raises and invests nearly US$4 billion a year to support programs run by local experts in countries and communities.
