We congratulate the President, Government and People of Sierra Leone for this achievement that represents another welcome example of the deepening democratic process in our continent.
Sierra Leone in the recent past has been challenged by a prolonged civil war followed by a devastating Ebola outbreak.
Against this backdrop, we welcome incoming President Maada BIO and look forward to sustained efforts aimed at meaningful national reconciliation as well as socio-economic development particularly as regards the transparent and beneficial use of the country’s significant natural resource endowment.
