The Mo Ibrahim Foundation wishes to express its deepest condolences to the family, comrades, the South African Nation, and to all Africans on the passing of Ahmed ‘Kathy’ Kathrada.

Today, we all mourn the loss of a great fighter, a principled leader and a man committed to justice and equality.
We pay tribute to this African giant who stood shoulder to shoulder with Madiba and other stalwarts in the fight against apartheid. He remained unwavering in his fight against corruption and in pursuit of good governance.
