Samar Baiomy, a painter, visual artist, filmmaker and amateur photographer from Alexandria has won the Amateur category in the MyAfrica photo competition.
Her passion for painting started in 2009 when she joined the Faculty of Fine Arts at Alexandria University to pursue a degree in Applied Arts. In 2011, she studied video art to further extend her skill set. She currently works as a teacher assistant in Pharos University.
Her picture was taken at in Al Qalyubiyah city in Egypt and captures a fisherman using his fishing net.
