Phindulo Tshidzumba, from Limpopo South Africa, has won the Student category in the MyAfrica photo competition. He will share his prize with his school Thohoyandou Technical High School.
Phindulo is a self-taught photographer currently studying Mechanical Engineering. He has also enrolled for a graphic design course.
Explaining the message of his photograph, Phindulo said:
Sadly, Africa is known for bad things, especially conflict & poverty. But for me, Africa is a place full of creativity and love. This image shows the reflections of Africans going about their daily lives. I hope this photograph will change people’s perspectives towards Africa and show them a more positive side.
